German Electrical Outlets

It has been a few years since I visited Germany.
I have a recently bought Swiss hairdryer.
I know the current is fine, but are German and Swiss outlet prongs the same, or will I need an adaptor?
(2 round prongs).

Does it have an earth? Swiss earthed sockets are different to German ones but a flat two pin plug will fit in both.

Hi mokka4,

German plugs take 2 round prongs.

I thought that Swiss appliances had 3 prongs in a triangle, with the 3d a ground.

Thank you nukesafe. I have a drawer full of different appliances and plugs. I love the newer ones with the multiple UBS plugs.

It has two round pins to plug in, bought at Coop.
But, I see in the bottom of the pouch (just now!) that it came with the adaptor to flat prongs.
Wow! I'm all set!
Thanks for responding.
