German castles in March?

I am working on the second day of research for my March 24-April 2 trip to Germany/Austria. My intial plans included basing in Munich with day trips to Innsbruck, Salzburg...etc. One of the major reasons for me to go to this region again (besides being a Bavaria junkie) was to see the castles near Fussen. The websites all say their "season" is from April-September. Does this mean that we will only be able to view them from the road during the last week of March? I went to Salzburg in late Dec. a few years ago and recall all of the tours still functioning, in spite of a bit of snow on the roads. If they are closed, is the Fussen trip even worthwhile?

Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau are open all year except a few special holidays. Winter and early spring hours are a bit shorter than summer hours--10 to 4.

The castles near Fuessen (actually in Hohenschwangau village) are open in the winter at least from 10-4. Closed a few special days during the year; e.g., Christmas Eve.

Too much coffee this morning.

Thanks. The websites are confusing then. I will put the "castle days" back onto my itinerary!
