George The Taxi Diver
 

Has anyone used the services of George the Famous Taxi Driver? I've read about him on a few sites now and wonder if I should use him while we are there. Any info/opinions would be great.

In Athens, right? We used his service but he wasn't our driver. We needed a taxi urgently one day when there was a taxi strike and he came through for us. This was over a year ago.

We booked directly with George and on the way backj to the states, we both agreed that George made our visit to Athens and incredible experience. One day we went aroundAthens and down to Sounion. The next day we went Delphi. George has a newer Mercedes and it is spotless. He will do what ever you ask. His wife's name is Loula and believe me when I say, if you are going to hire a car and you don't use George---big mistake.<BR>

We used George in November and I agree that it made our stay in Athens a pleasant one. He is reliable, knows Greece well, and is reasonable in cost. He will sometimes use his son or friend as drivers but they are all nice and speak excellent english.

We contacted George last April and used his service just to drive us from the new airport to our hotel. We did not get "George" but another driver who was competent, spoke English and gave us a pleasant ride to Athens. Knowing we had a reliable service to get us to our hotel early in the morning was definitely worth it!
