Genovia Castle - Princess Diaries
Does anyone know if the castle they fly over at the end of the movie is real or a computer generated one? Does anyone recognize it? I did a search and didn't find this discussed before so I hope this isn't a repeat. Anyway, just curious if it was real, where it was located and the name.

So does anyone know the answer? I looked at that web site the last poster put up, and it didn't tell me anything about where it was filmed. The closest it got was that on one of the credits, it said someone was the grip for San Fran. location...... maybe I'll have to watch the credits of the movie and see if it says anything about the castle.....

I am really curious about this...I have young daughters who would love to see if this castle on an upcoming trip to the UK if it really exists. (*That* is how it realates to this board.) Anyway, I did a quick web search, and all I came up with was that it was stock footage of a European castle, with a computer generated Genovian flag added to it. Soooooo, apparently this castle really exists. Does anyone know where in Europe???!!

This really has my interest up. There is NOTHING on the credits about the castle (I watched them to make sure). I tried again to see if I recognized the castle, but no go. I'm guessin either England or France (Loire Valley?), but the garden looks British... I'm searching, I'm searching.

After going on line and finding NOTHING in regards to where the castle might be (but lots on the other sites in the movie), I started letting my fingers do the walking to see if I could find anything similar looking.... Could it be Glamis Castle? in Scotland???
