Genoa airport to cruise departure

Can anyone advise what is the best and most economical way to go from the Genoa airport(returning a rental car) to the cruise docks?

It's actually only about 20 minutes away. When we were there in 1999 it cost us 50,000 lira in Taxi fare, (including lots of luggage), with tip. I guess that would be about 35 Euros now.

You could walk to the Porta Principe Train Station and take the airport bus. A bit of a hassle is you have heavy luggage.

Sorry for the confusion. You would take the airport bus at the Genoa airport and get off at the Porta Principe Train Station (20 minute ride), which is about 500 yards from the harbor area. You should ask the cruise company exactly where the ship will dock, and its proximity to the Porta Principe Station. It's downhill from the station to the docks.
