What is the best way to get from Geneva to Brussels by train? Is there a direct train?

Hi, and welcome to Fodors' Europe forum!<BR><BR>Don't mean to sound condescending to address you as (apparently) a newcomer, but it IS a newcomer's question - - not that there's anything wrong with that.<BR><BR>You'll probably want to learn your ay around the www.raileurope.com website (click on "Search our database of fares & schedules.") - - but I don't advise actually buying any tickets there. There's a hefty mark-up.<BR><BR>It's a five-hour trip; it is a direct train, and quite an expensive one. The real price, if purchased in Europe, will be under $100 (in second class). Rex gave you quite a long winded answer! Yes, there's a Thalys train running daily, leaving Brussels Midi at 7 pm (actually 7:01 pm) and getting into Geneva a minute after midnight. The Thalys also travels from Geneva to Brussels twice a day, one train leaving at 6:52 am and another at 8:52 am. <BR>FYI, the Thalys system is a network of special high speed trains serving several countries, but its most frequent runs are Paris-Brussels-Amsterdam (and back).
