Geneva - sights, airport, luggage

Hi - We arrive in Geneva at 7:30am and want to see about 4 hours worth of sights before heading on a train to Zermatt.
1) Are we better off taking a train or bus into Geneva from the airport?
2) Any suggestions on 'must see' tourist sights in our 4 hour window?
3) Are we better off leaving the luggage in an airport locker or is there a service to transport the luggage to Zermatt?

There are lockers at Geneve airport railway station and at Geneve Cornavin (city) railway station. The latters may be more handy for you.
2 main sights at Geneva: medieval city center (rather small) and Red Cross museum

If the weather is fine you may also board a historic Lake Geneva steamboat and go up to Lausanne or Montreux:
Geneva dp 10.15 - Lausanne ar 13.30 - Montreux ar 15.43
daily until Sept 8th, weekends until Oct 20th

Trains from Lausanne and Montreux to Zermatt every hr
