General Scotland Accommodation question
My husband and I will be in Scotland next summer and have been there before. This time we have an accommodation question. For part of the time we will be joined by our daughter and her two adult (sized) children. They will be looking for a room for three as we are looking for our usual room for two. In most cases we would be staying only a night or two. Will it be difficult to find accommodation for 5 in 2 rooms? How is the best way to start my search? I don't have our itinerary down pat yet as I am afraid that this type of accommodation requirement may dictate some of our stops. Just feeling my way....

Many of the B&Bs where we stayed had more than one room available. Generally the price was per person rather than per room, so if an establishment has three rooms and no room for three, it might still be OK.

Lots and LOTS of B&Bs have what are called family rooms. These will sleep three or sometimes four in a room. So yes, there are tons of places you will find accommodations.
However, many B&Bs w/ family rooms only have one such room - the rest being mostly doubles/twins. So when you need two rooms or a family room it is always best to book well ahead. |
Thanks Michael and Janisj...that was what I was hoping. I will be working on everyone's wants and "must sees" in the next little while. When I have a tentative itinerary, I might be back for more help and suggestions.
