General Motorhome advice for May and which company to use?

Hi!

I'm thinking about renting a motorhome for the last week of May for 8 nights. The plan is to do the ring road and spend as much time after that in Reykjavik. Anyone have an experience with a moterhome in Iceland? Will this time of year present any problems in driving one of these around the ring road? Is 8 days enough time to see some of the city as well as do the ring road? Is parking in Reykjavik going to be difficult with a motorhome?

I see two companies with around the same price. One is mcrent (mcrent.eu) and the other is motorhomeiceland.com

Does anyone have any experience with either of these? I think I'd rather do motorhome Iceland but I can literally find zero reviews online (perhaps due to the not very unique name).

Thank you!

Hi!
Last fall we rented a motorhome with Motorhome Iceland. Mike and all the employees were very nice and helpful. We went with Motorhome For 2 which was perfect for 2 people (could easily fit more) and plenty of space for luggage. Everything was like on photos. The van drove great, heater worked well (which was important!) and the bed was totally fine.

Another campervan rental firm to consider is campervan iceland. Might be worth cehcking them out to see if they can offer a better deal?

Hi there!
I had no experience with motorhome in Iceland, but I had in Norway. The Ring Road is asfalted, so no problems with it, especially in April.
I already have been in Iceland by motor car, 8 days is not enough to see Reykjavik and do the whole Ring Road - you'll have to do a semisphere, but Icelandic regions allow many things to see!
Again, I drove in Reykjavic by normal car, however I had no trouble with the big vehicle in Oslo.
Previously I had quite a negative experience with McRent, and since then prefer to choose smaller companies with all offices situated in one country.
