General Information

I would like to know if anyone out there can recommend a personal tour guide company in Rome and Venice. Also, has anyone stayed at the Hotel Bisanzio in Venice or The Hotel Canada in Rome, please share your experiences.

I need help.

Hotel Canada is wonderful! Really. I will stay there again. Very friendly staff, very professional attitudes, and wonderful breakfasts. I had the most incredible chocolate croissants there. They have security cameras trained on the street and the rooms are very nice. Good value for you money, you won't be disappointed! Please advise of you want more information, have a great trip.

I've heard good reviews of this 3-star hotel, but should point out that it is inconveniently located, near the train station (hence the cameras trained on the street.) There are hotels equally good or better for fair prices more conveniently located for most visitors purposes.

twenj

People searching for posts about Italy would be upset if they couldn't find this one. Italy wasn't mentioned in
the body of the message, nor was Lazio nor the Veneto.

But now all three are.

Regrettably, nothing can be done about the non-descript title. But maybe others will read this post and think about what words to include in the headers of their messages and in the body as well.
The area around the train station has been cleaned up in the past few years, unfortunately there is sill the preconception of the area being 'bad', see the above post. I was a solo woman staying at the Hotel Canada and I had no problems.

The area is probably still cheaper than the historical district - I haven't reviewed the pricing recently, but if you can get a deal in this area I say go for it. If a woman travelling alone can stay in the area and be safe, anyone can.
