General Calculator for distance between cities?

I keep finding where I need a street address as well. Is there a site that has the info or a site I can plug in "Paris, France" to "Aix, France"

Have you tried http://www.mappy.fr/ ? You might also try Michelin or at least do a search for Michelin.

Good luck.

I always use www.mappy.com. Your itinerary, for example, is a distance of 225.5 km, will take you 2 hours, 27 minutes to drive, has two tolls that will cost you 12.10 euros, and will use 18 litres of gas.

If you only want a street address in Paris or Aix, you can get that, too.

Good enough?

When I can't get one of the calculators to bring up St. Remy, what other town can I put in the search engine to find a distance between Aix, Avignon, Nice, Arles, etc.,.

www.mappy.com is the best site for calculating distances in Europe. I know it recognizes St-Rémy and Arles, etc., because I've used it for those distances before.

I cannot get it to recognize St. Remy at all. I even did the search on mappy with the "my city is not listed" and nothing comes up!

Mappy says that Aix to Arles is 257 km. Beyond France say 76. Which one is correct?

I just got mappy to show St Remy without any problem. It's 24 km from there to Arles. Perhaps you aren't spelling it correctly, and a postal code helps as many towns in France have similar names. Just type in "saint remy de provence" with the postal code 13210.

Toile,

The distance between Aix (-EN-PROVENCE) and Arles is probably close to the 76 kms you mentionned. The 257 kms probably refer to the distance between Arles and Aix-LES-BAINS, in the Alps.

I know mappy etc are great for getting exact distances but, per the above examples, you need some basic information before you can even ask the right questions. have you thought about getting a map and starting from there? that way you can determine if the answers you're getting are correct or if there is a mistaken assumption in your question. If you're driving you're going to have to get a good road map anyway so why not invest now?

Thank you everyone. I have all the information I need now. It's great! I am so excited. I am ready to hop on the plane and go.

Ira -

Sometimes the old way is the best way. Mappy etc are great for certain things but sometimes they're just brain dead. So -I always use a combo - web sites for detailed local directions and maps for planning, routing and synchronicity.

I agree, nyt. That's why the :)
