Gay Visitor, Glasgow or Edinburgh?

A friend is getting ready for a first visit to Scotland. Any insights or advice on focusing on either Glasgow or Edinburgh regarding the Gay scene?

Both have an active gay scene, possibly Edinburgh the more so.

I don't properly know the answer to this question, but I could find out from friends if you want me to. Please let me know

Sheila, you are once again a dear. Let me post this thread on, and we'll go from there! Did you see Mickie's post regarding Galloway? Hope you survived the floods and gales. Thanks

I was too blinkered to realise this was from you. Yes, I saw Mickie's thread and smiled wryly:)

I was in Brussels when it was very wet here, so missed most of it.Thanks for your concern.

Ok; two pieces of input

"Depends - if young and cute we can offer our personal services ....

Otherwise - if it is either/or, I would recommend Glasgow, Best are
Delmonicas (Bar - Virgina Street) Polo Lounge (Bar/club - Wilson Street) and
Bennets (Cluib - Glassford Street) all basically round the corner from each
other

If Edinburgh, worth a visit to Blue Moon Cafe (Broughton Street) where you
can often pick up fliers for one-nighters. Bars are Laughing Duck (Howe
Street); Habana, Planet Out and .... as ever ... CC Blooms (Leith Walk, next
to Playhouse. CCs is open latest and has disco downstairs. If he prefers an
older crowd (or facial hair or leather) there is New Town Bar (Dublin St)"

"Try the Glasgow Lesbian and Gay Centre website"

two more responses expected.
Sheila and Jason, thanks for your advice. I'll forward it on. My friends are on their first trip to Scotland, and too short of trip IMHO, so will probably focus on the city/ies. All helpful insights are much appreciated.
