Try the Spartacus International Gay Guide

Maybe Roland thinks Aix is more on the coast, as you might expect resorts down there. Of course, I guess you can find resorts in lots of places popular with vacationers, I know of some in areas of Southern France that aren't on the coast.

Anyway, specific guidebooks probably are the best resource for this, but I do know of a small nice property near Pernes-les-Fontaines that is run by a male gay couple and so definitely would be gay-friendly and that is Mas la Bonoty www.bonoty.com That's a cute small property and a great location for touring the area by car, but it wouldn't have the services and facilities of a resort, of course.

I agree with looking at The Spartacus Guide on in Damron's if you cannot find anything useful on the internet.

Seamus, I'm not sure I agree that the "issue" of gay bars/resorts yes/no in the US is mainly based on marketing. In many cases the very presence of anything "gay" be it persons or resorts or bars or restaurants is something to be eliminated at all costs so we can be sure everyone doing the eliminating is going to Heaven!

LOL, intrepid - d'accord indeed! I live in Texas so am quite familiar with that dynamic. In addition to efforts to assure eternal salvation (planned to the last detail in strict accordance with terms dictated by self appointed experts) there is also a whole lot of political utility to supporting (or at least appearing to support) such activities. Again, just underscores the sociocultural difference betweeen the US and places with greater emphasis on education and social responsibility which tends to produce residents with better developed critical thinking skills less subject to bamboozling by boogeymen and fearmongersing traders in the commerce of hate. No wonder that folks from the US like to travel to other places for a refreshing break, eh?
