Gaudi and all that jazz!
I`ve got 2 full days in Barcelona,Gaudi`s work is astounding, what is the best way to see some of it ? tours or independently? I`m staying close to the cathedral. What is the best view of Barcelona? Is the hop on hop off bus good? Thanks in advance for all info.

Susie..the Gaudi sites can be seen on your own very easily. From the Cathedral you can walk past the fountain at Placa Catalunya and continue onto upscale Passeig Gracia...Gaudi buildings, lamp posts everywhere. For more Gaudi, you can take the Turistica bus at the Placa and ride to Sagrada Familia (his yet unfinished work) and Parc Guel. It's a hop-on-hop-off convenient way to see the city)
These selected scanned Barcelona pics cover all of the above. Enjoy the electrifying city. Great view of the city can he experienced atop Mt. Juic (Turistica stops there)...and the Joan Miro Foundation is up there also. stu https://picasaweb.google.com/stuartt...rcelonaScenes# |
Don't bother with organised tours!
But do see Casa Mila (also known as La Pedrera) and Casa Battlo - they are very close to each other. The entry fees to each are worth the cost... Make sure your camera has fresh battery! The Sagrada Familia and Guell Park is another not to be missed spot. Great views of the city from this park and as well: from one of the towers of the Sagrada Familia. Buen Viaje! |
as i recall-- there are a couple of different routes for the hop-on hop-off bus. it is really helpful in getting the lay of the land. easy city to go around-- you won't have a problem.

Have booked a tour of Sagrada Familia and Guell Park just to avoid the queues otherwise will do the hop on/off bus.
Many thanks. Susielou |
