Gatwick to Heathrow by hired car or cab
We are arriving at Gatwick at almost midnight and want to stay at a hotel near Heathrow for our flight out in the morning. Does anyone have experience with a private car service or cab late at night, say 12:30 am? What are the fares for the transfer? At that time of night, we have decided that we would rather make it easy on ourselves. Thanks

Try here for various transfer methods. It would appear that a taxi/private hie will cost from about £75.

Arriving at LGW at nearly midnight means you won't be on your way to LHR until after 1 AM. If it was me, I'd stay the night at LGW and take the National Express Coach in the morning.
But if you really want to travel to LHR that night - the coaches run a reduced schedule over night. One leaves at 02:05.
