Gatwick to Cheltenham

What is the best way to Cheltenham from Gatwick? Do we take the Gatwick Express to Victoria, go to the Paddington Station next and then on to Cheltenham? Or is there an easier way to go about. We were going to go to Windsor for the day, but decided against that. Sounds to difficult.

Thanks.

The easiest would be to route via Reading and avoid London totally

You'll need to go to a website like http://www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com/ and mess with the "show slower routes" options as the websites are set up to give you the fastest rather than the simplest route - in the case of Gatwick to Cheltenham the simplest route is 20 minutes slower than the fastest route

You should be able to book this route in advance and collect your tickets at Gatwick - probably via the Fastticket option so you can get the £7.50 one way fare (for a 4 hour journey!!!)

Alan, are you suggesting bus to Reading then train or bus all the way? If me, I would bus and then train.

There is no need to use buses. Trains run from Gatwick to Reading, and from Reading to Cheltenham (usually with a change at Swindon).
The National Express East Coast website is a train booking website: National Express run the trains on the East Coast line from London to Edinburgh.

Your right of course. For what ever reason I was reading Gatwick, but thinking Heathrow.
