According to the BBC a man with a live hand grenade was arrested.

The hand grenade hasn't been confirmed - the police are tight lipped and at the moment that story seems to be circulating amingst Gatwick staff. Who knows, may be true. Apparently the terminal has been closed, is swarming with army and police, and planes that are arriving are being held, with their passengers, on the tarmac.

Only one man arrested so far...

According to BBC News being broadcast now, a 37 year old Venezuelan flying in from Caracas has been arrested under the anti-terrorism act for carrying a live hand grenade in his luggage. They also say that the government has learnt of a specific threat, possibly this week to coincide with the Muslim festival of Eid, to bring down a plane using an anti-aircraft missile.
