Gatwick Airport Hotels

This subject has not come up for a few years. What is the best of the three or four hotel options at Gatwick ? We are arriving and departing from North Terminal. Objectives are quiet hotel, large beds and great breakfast. Thank you for any experience and advice you may have to assist us.

Premier Travel Inn towards Crawley works well for me, there is also an Ibis just down the road. Both accessible by bus (there is shuttle bus to the Ibis, probably to the PTI). Breakfasts for both are fantastic, both hotels are quiet and PTI has a policy that if you don't sleep well you don't have to pay.

or take the 100 bus from the North Terminal station stop 12, if you go to the PTI watch out for the geese

We've stayed at the Ramada and found it to be fine. Good buffet breakfast, shuttle to the airport, scarily efficient staff and it used to have 2 weeks free parking included with the room rate (though no idea if that is still true).

Btw I think it might be called something else now but still comes up as Jarvis/Ramada in searches. Sandeman Signature??

Rather than an airport hotel I stay here: http://springwoodgatwick.co.uk

Pick up and drop off from the airport. Walking distance to a very good pub for dinner. But breakfast isn't "great".

multiple Premier Inns (at least 4 or 5 - more if you include Crawley) - all at different price points

As we arrive at night at Terminal N, we prefer not to take shuttle buses. Any votes for the three hotels right next to Terminal N - Premier, Sofitel and Hampton by Hilton ?

It depends what you like, if you want to crash after a flight I'd go to the Premier as the beds are big, the water is hot and place is quiet.

I struggle with airport hotels as I have listened to too many bags being dragged down the corridors at 4am as firedoors bang.

As I've said Premier give you your money back if don't sleep, means they work at the fixing the banging doors and they also push put people who have to get up early into rooms near the staircases, others don't care.

Thank you for the vote for the Premier at North Terminal. Sounds like a practical solution. Fortunately we dont have to leave too early the following morning.
