Gatwick Airport

If we are hungry when we arrive from the US @ 8:30am, where are some good breakfast places in the Airport to eat?

If you arrive at 8:30 a.m. they will have fed you breakfast on the flight.

Ditto. You shouldn't be hungry since breakfast is served about an hour before you land. We're usually so eager to get into London we frankly haven't noticed any places to eat. Sorry can't be more help.

Frankie and Benny's, on the departure level of the South terminal. Pretty well nowhere else, since practically everywhere else is either airside (so you can't access it), girly coffeeshop rubbish (like Cafe Nero) or Mc D.

Like everyone else, I just wouldn't bother. Go into town and eat real food.

If you mean 0830 local time, I'd be amazed if your body is actually wanting anything other than a few more hours sleep. But no, nothing special in the airport.

What? You guys actually eat the stuff they give you on board? Hehehe... ;)

It depends on where you're located on the plane.

I know they have a Pret a Manger, but I hate that place. I tell you about it so you can avoid it. Seriously nasty sandwiches.
