Gate 1 travel tours
 

Anyone have any experience with Gate 1 travel tours? They offer the most afortable escorted tour deals to Italy we've seen. Hotels are supposed to be 3 to 4 stars but I've read mixed reviews on them. Anyone gear of Hotel Nova Domas in Rome or Hotel Mediterraneo in Florence?

We'll be staying in the Mediterraneo later this week. I'll let you know!

I know someone who used Gate 1 for hotel/air package and they were happy. Also, I have stayed at the Grand hotel Mediterraneo in Florence when I took a Trafalgar tour once. It was about 3 years ago. The location was okay, close to the river and a major intersection. The breakfast was good there. It was a full service hotel. I do remember the rooms were very basic and the shower was small. But, they were very clean! If I were on a tour, I would not mind staying there again. But, don't expect anything fancy.

We just got back from a 10 day trip that we booked with Gate 1 to Greece. It was an amazing trip! Our tour was not guided or escorted,but we knew that in advance. Gate 1 was always on top of any problems that occurred such as a ferry or plane being delayed and always rectified the problem quickly. We had booked the lowest class of hotels and they were very clean and safe. We would definitely use Gate 1 again. Also, we found that their packages with air and hotel were cheaper than what we could have gotten just the airfare for. Have a great trip!

What tour was that called? I was looking on the gate 1 site. It thought they were all escorted tours. The price is reasonable. I would love to go to Greece. Please tell me the name of the tour you went on if you should check back to this site. Thanks.
