Gas Prices in Germany

Hi,

Could anyone tell me an approximate price per liter of gasoline in Germany? I am heading over in 2 weeks and will be doing plenty of driving. Does the price vary wildly or is it fairly stable?

Thanks!

We have found the price to be generally 4 times US prices. We usually pay $30 - 50 US dollars to fill up our tank in a midsize rental. Prices are cheaper in smaller towns, highest on the Autobahn.
There isn't a big degree of variation in price, tho. Good luck!!

John -

I haven't checked lately, but gas prices here usually run about $3.50 per gallon after currency and metric conversion. It's not cheap by any means.

Hi!
Gas is about 1.65 to 1.75 marks/liter, depending on octane rating. Diesel is quite a bit cheaper (1.20 or so I think). Remember this is Europe and you are paying a LOT of tax on gas.
