We found plenty of adventure with all this powdery snow! We took the lift up Eckbauer then hiked/sled toward Wamberg ultimately coming back out near the hospital. A great adventure for the kids even, they're hardier than average luckily. Took about 2.5 hours to do the loop. Would've been better visibility if it wasn't snowing but we are happy we did it.
The public pool is super, we're taking the kids back tomorrow as they've been begging to go back. The 5 indoor pools and 3-story indoor water slide are amazing!
Tomorrow night we'll go to the Fraudorfer for a special New Year's Eve dinner. Traveling with a 6 & 8 year old takes a different form from those traveling adults. Hopefully they'll enjoy the live music and dancing as the food will be unappreciated by them.
We went to the Deutsches Museum in München yesterday, a great place for anyone wanting to get in a bit of culture while soaking in Bavaria. One of the world's largest science museums. Honestly, it deserves almost 3 days to get through all the exhibits! Super easy run from GaPa, just the one transfer at the München Haupbanhof to Isartor station, 5 minute walk from that station.
Just sharing our experience as parents of young children.
I ordered sleds (and Christmas presents) on Amazon.de using our Prime account so we have been able to pull the kids along when they poop out of are busy eating a Nutella crepe from Ludwigstrasse. Even if we leave the sleds behing they have logged some serious distances! We take them along even on the bus.

There were younger children slap dancing at Fraudorfer's. They seat you with others many times there but we are use to that and had a great time with others at our table. Glad you got snow.

BTW, I travelled to the Zugspitze yesterday to try to ski a bit . . . but it was whiteout conditions. I v e r y s l o w l y skied one little run, and I couldn't even see the snow under my skis -- it was as if the skis were floating in space. Whoops. Came back home. Ah well.

So sorry you got white-out conditions! We went back up Eckbauer again today and hiked back via the gorge. So glad we made the gorge!!! I must confess we blew off Linderhof and Neuschwanstein since we went years ago. The kids like castles, not so much palaces. The mountains are far more majestic honestly.
I know it's last minute but any thoughts on a mountainside restaurant that serves dinner?!?
We enjoyed the dinner at the Fraudorfer last night, the crowd was lovely and the owner made sure the kids felt very welcome. The poker-playing Americans were the only ones who seemed like they weren't into it.
Tomorrow is our last day, hope to get another active day under our belts before we train, plane, plane, bus, boat home. :-)

Sorry, I don't often eat at the mountain restaurants -- I generally bring a lunch.

Oh wait, I do love the Drehmöser at Hausberg. Terrific ambiance, good food, great views of the skiers. I've had hot chocolate there a few times.
