Gargnano sul Garda -- Can someone recommend hotels in this town?

My husband and I are researching a trip in mid-may to the Como, Maggiore and Garda area. I would appreciate any recommendations for hotels in the town of Gargnano sul Garda. We are in our 30s with no children. A friend has recommended Villa Giulia, which looks lovely. However, we would like additional recommendations (perhaps more moderately priced.). Thanks!

We stayed in Gargnano late May 2004 at Hotel Palazzina, its a 3 star hotel and we found it to be very comfortable. We had a large double room with a spacious balacony overlooking the swimming pool and a wonderful view of the lake. We payed EU53 per person, per night for half board (breakfast and 4 course dinner). We booked online, language was no problem, www.gardalake.com/hotel-palazinna. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much. It looks charming. Can you tell me if it's a large town? Did you like the location of this hotel?
Thank you!

Hi again. Gargnano is only a small town but does have a few shops to browse around and cafes and restaurants on the waterfront. The hotel is raised up above the road with panoramic views of Lake Garda from the dining room and terraces around the pool. We thought the hotel setting was very nice and it was only a few minutes walk into the town which we did in the evenings but it was very quiet and we were glad we had booked dinner at the hotel. Not sure how long you are planning on staying in Gargnano, we were there for 3 nights and found that to be plenty. We did an enjoyable boat trip for the day to Riva del Garda which is a large town with plenty of activity. Hope this helps.

AGain, thank you so much. This information is wonderful. We are planning on staying for two nights -- driving around, etc. and this sounds just perfect -- for location, pace and budget!
