Gare de Lyon platform question

Hello guys!
I will be arriving in Gare de Lyon via TGV Lyria at 4:49pm on a Saturday nxt month. I need to get on the next RER D train to Gare du Nord asap. Is the platform near? Will there be long lines in buying train ticket? The reason I'm in a hurry is because I have to buy a Paris Museum pass at Gare du Nord's welcome booth. The booth closes at 6pm and I will be using the museum pass the next morning.
Thanks in advance!!

Check the stations layout at: www.garedelyon.fr/tourists/

The RER runs every few minutes. I believe you're looking for line D.

I am not sure what or why ASAP, but there is a similar booth in front of the Gare de l'Est very nearby that I think is open until 8. Check their schedule.

I don't understand the rush to get the Museum Pass, as you can pick one up in countless places, including any museum that's included on it, but if you want to rush, go ahead. No one can predict whether there will be long lines or not, but it's rush hour, so perhaps there will be. A lot of fuss over nothing, IMO.

No one can predict what will happen when you are there, but I can't imagine not not being able to go between those stations in an hour. I don't think what you are doing really is the best choice, just go to the main Tourist Office at the Pyramides metro stop as it is open until 7 and on a direct line from Gare de Lyon.

There are several places to purchase the Museum Pass when you arrive in Paris and some will be open until 8pm or later on Saturday. Click on the "In Paris" tap on the link below to see locations and choose one near the station or your hotel.

That link doesn't really show all the points where you can buy them. The Paris Tourist Office website gives better info as to hours of each of their locations and whether they sell passes there or not. FOr example, the above link doesn't even say you can buy it at the main TI office, which wouldn't make sense (that you could buy it as the smaller welcome centers but not the main office).

Thank you all for the advice. I just learned that Gare de L'est is 1km from my hostel in Paris and the booth is open til 8pm. I think I'll buy the museum pass here. Another option is to buy the pass in Notre Dame the next day since it is the first tourist attraction I will be visiting. It will be open at 10 am.
Thanks again for the help!

Now I'm confused. I just clicked the parisinfo website suggested by Christina and it say's the welcome booth in Gare de L'Est is open til 6:30pm but in the parismusseumpass website, it says open until 8pm.

ASAP = as soon as possible

Oh , that's great. I have the same issue as the op and was planning on going there. I may need to pick up the phone...

^^ I tried calling them, but got a "all our lines are busy". It's the general number, not just the Gare de L'Est number, unfortunately, so I am not sure I would believe anything they say. I saw several references to a 7PM close on websites for the Gare de L'Est office. Who knows?

Is there anything stopping you from just going to the tourist office at Gare de Lyon since you are arriving there? It is open from 08:00 to 18:00, Hall 1 in front of platforms L/M.

I'm a bit hesitant to buy at Gare de L'Est because it's a longer walk to my hostel compared to Gare du Nord. This is not a problem if I didn't carry luggage with me. There is another visitor store at Anvers station but the parisinfo website says it is closed in May to Sep.
If I won't be able to buy the pass at Gare de L'Est, I'll just go to FNAC Champs-Elysees since it is open until midnight. This will also give me a chance to photograph the Eiffel tower at night.
