Galway B&B's
I am leaving for my first trip to Ireland 21 March. I can't wait! I will be staying in Galway for 3 nights and would like to know of any B&Bs anyone would recommend staying at. I will be traveling with 2 other friends and we would like something around 30-45 Euro's/person (or less). Any suggestions??

I highly recommend the Sea Breeze Lodge B&B (address: 9 Cashelmara, Knocknacarra, Salthill, Galway). I stayed there a year ago last March. The rooms are immaculate and the owner is absolutely friendly and accomodating. The breakfast is killer as well! Great view of the ocean as well. Have fun!

I've stayed at Four Seasons B&B on College Rd. in Galway and recommend it highly.

Personally, I think the college road or close to the city is better. I just always get a slightly run down seaside resort feel from Salthill and it is further outside the city. Stay in a B&B you wan walk to the centre.
Also be aware that the cheaper you go, the more of a dump you get. We stayed in a B&B as we could not get anything else on a bank holiday and it was horrible. Kind of like the old crummy ones I remember as a kid. The lady was lovely and was the image of my granny which was nice but it was just too gross for me. It felt like a seedy hotel. |
I also stayed at the Four Seasons on college Road and loved it. The location is perfect - a 5 minute walk to town and the owners are quite friendly and accomodating. The breakfasts were among the best we had - try the salmon and eggs. The owners were actually gone to a wedding the first couple of days we stayed there and their children, college and high school age, took over and did and absolutely wonderful job as hosts while their parents were out. We loved talking with them, they gave us great info, booked golf for the guys and were very informative.

Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions. We've decided to stay at the Four Seasons since it comes so highly recommended. I was also impressed with their quick reply to my email inquiry. Thanks again!
