Galleria Borghese Rome

How far in advance can you make reservations? I called ticketeria to purchase tickets for Sept. 4 and they told me tickets don't go on sale until Aug. 20th. Any ideas??

Why not put it on your calendar to try on Aug 20?

That's because they don't allow reservations more than about 30 days, or 5 weeks in advance. If you go on-line (which you can do and buy them there: www.ticketeria.it), it will show you can reserve up until Aug. 31st-no later.

Make sure you call the day of your reservation to make sure they are open. When I was there, I had made my reservation in-advance, but they ended up closing that day for a strike.

I would check the online site periodically to see if tickets go on sale before August 20.

In my experience hotels always get tickets for the Galleria Borghese without any problem. One or two days before has always been enough for us.

There is NO NEED to book way in advance. I went up there on a Sunday in August with a reservation I had made a few days earlier, and there were a number of people to show up with NO reservation, and they got in on the next two hour opening. This should be the least of one's worries.

When we visited in early June we arrived first thing in the morning and the Galleria was sold out for the entire day. Good thing we reserved a month ahead!
