Futbol match in Ireland

Hello,

My husband and i will be traveling to Ireland in the middle of September. We will be staying mainly in Galway and Dingle. My husband is a big soccer fan and i would love to try and get to a soccer game while in Ireland. Does anyone have advice on where I could look into a schedule to see if we could fit it into our schedule?

Thanks,
Amy

Most Irish football fans watch ManUtd and Celtic games on TV!
Seriously, the standard of play in the League of Ireland is pretty low, nowhere near the level of English or Scottish Premier Leagues, as good players move to the mainland for better money and opportunities. If you still want to catch a game, there are league clubs in Cork (Cork City) in First Division and Galway United in Premier Division. The league is being sponsored by Airtricity.
Official website is http://www.airtricityleague.com/index.php, which has fixture list and links to individual club sites, with details of ticketing etc. Normally you can just turn up and pay for entry.

Irish football is very poor - if you're any good you play in england.

I'd have at look at the gaelic sports. Absolute madness. Not for the faint hearted:
