Fussen to Lake Constance ?
Hi all,
I'm planning a visit to Europe for late May and June, 2007. Part of the plan is to drive from near Garmisch to Lake Constance. There seem to be three viable routes: A. Go South through Lermoos and take the E60 through St. Anton and Klösterle to Bludenz and Bregenz. B. Get off the E60 outside Tobadill and follow the B188 along the Trisanna river through Ischgl and Galtür to Bludenz and Bregenz. C. Go North on the B310 toward Kempten Allgäu, follow the B12 to the A96/E43 and go South to Bregenz. Option C seems to be the least scenic route (to put it kindly). However, my Lady Wife has vertigo and can't travel on roads that have sheer drop offs or go over bridges a thousand feet in the air. Anyone who has driven any of these routes and can tell me what to expect? Thanks ((I)) |
I drove from Fussen to Lake Constance (Bodensee) two years ago. I don't exactly recall the exact route, but I believe I drove route #3. The drive went thru hills, curvy parts, and small towns, and scenic spots.
Enjoy! You will enjoy Bodensee during the summer. Did you check out www.viamichelin.com for exact routes? |
Hi P,
Thanks for the response. Glad to hear that the 3rd way isn't as bad as I thought. I did get the routes from Michelin. ((I)) |
