Furious

I am furious. I have organised at trip to Europe for my boss and now he wants to return a day earlier because in half a day he's seen Venice. Can you believe it!!

Dukey May 17th, 2007 02:00 AM

Yes, Henda and since he's still your boss I guess you're stuck with it unfortunately.

worldinabag May 17th, 2007 02:07 AM

What a screaming bore! Why don't you suggest that it would be better for the company if you went instead.
Or if you're desperate to go marry him and go too! :S-

kerouac May 17th, 2007 02:51 AM

There's a whole other thread titled "One Day in Venice - Worth it?"

SAnParis May 17th, 2007 02:53 AM

I guess my first question would be is this (trip) business related ?

Padraig May 17th, 2007 03:09 AM

A whole day earlier! Had you scheduled a day and a half for Venice?

People have different likes and dislikes. He has had enough Venice for him. Why get mad about that?

Henda May 17th, 2007 04:09 AM

The prolbem is he's a workaholic. It's his first trip to Venice and his wife's first trip to Europe - not business related at all. In half a day he counld'nt have walked through Venice. I have been there 5 times and I have'nt seen it all.

ComfyShoes May 17th, 2007 05:08 AM

Henda, I have to say I admire that you are so passionate.

Since you can't start a conversation with "hey moron,...", just get him a video on Venice or something. Okay, I am just kidding about the "hey moron" part :)

Cimbrone May 17th, 2007 05:18 AM

Just be glad this phillistine is your boss and not your husband!

sandi May 17th, 2007 06:11 AM

Yeh, why are you furious. He's not your husband. It's his trip and his wife who has to deal with the decision; maybe she's fine with nly half-day. Just change the arrangements and stay out of it. Life is too short to get crazy over someone elses decision that has no impact on you.

quokka May 17th, 2007 06:16 AM

He'll find out. He'll bite his own lower backside as soon as he gets there and has to leave after half a day.

Or, if he thinks afterwards that half a day was enough, it's better for Venice that he left quickly.

J62 May 17th, 2007 06:21 AM

Who knows. Maybe his wife is nagging him about something like

"Venice smells, you can't make me stay there more than 1/2 day"

Life is too short to be furious about someone else's decisions that have absolutely no effect on you.

I'm questioning the appropriateness of a manager expecting an employee to plan their personal vacation.

Cimbrone May 17th, 2007 07:23 AM

Gosh! I'd love to do that for a living. Better than paying water bills and firing people. Although it'd be nice to do it for someone who could appreciate my efforts.
