Furio Camillo area of Rome - safe?

I'm still playing w/my winter vacation plans. I will have a week in Rome (along w/a week in Florence and 2 weeks in Greece) and have been apartment hunting. I'd prefer something under 500E per week. Even better under 450E. I found a couple fitting that in the Vatican area. But I"m puzzled by this other one near the metro stop Furio Camillo in the San Giovanni District.. I am aware that this metro stop is several stops past San Giovanni stop. What's the neighborhood like?

DH & I used the metro quite a bit on our last trip to Rome, and had no problems, so apartments that are in a quieter area out of the tourist district are OK w/us.

I found a place for under 360E per week. The location is described: "The flat is very conveniently located since underground line A stop ‘Furio Camillo’ (exit towards Via Furio Camillo) is just a stone’s throw...." Described also as the San Giovanni district.
I quote again "The flat is also located at a walking distance (about 15 minutes) from the beautiful Caffarella/Appia Antica natural park..."
Close to railway, Lively area.
Shops : less than 50 m, Supermarket : less than 50 m, Restaurant : less than 50 m, Subway : 200 m / 570 ft, Train station : 400m/1140 ft, Bus stop : 50 m,

, Pubs, Restaurants, shops, pharmacies, daily/hourly garage, internet point etc. Typical and famous Pizzeria Napoletana 100 m One of the best ice-cream shops in Rome 300 m. The flat is located at the 2° floor with lift.

So, from the above descriptions, can anyone tell if this is an area where we'd feel safe, and OK especially after dark? Thanks.

Can't comment on the safety of the area, but you are very far out from the center, well outside the city walls and on the other side of the RR tracks. St John Lateran is four stops in on the A Line.

I found a really nice looking apartment w/lift in the Vatican area. It is 1 BR/1BA w/kitchen,washer, and patio in the garden (not that we'll use it in Feb.

It's in a nice residential area, so we'll be mixing w/locals, not so much tourists, which is what we prefer. For 400E. Close to supermarkets, restaurants and importantly, the metro, with which we are comfortable. Since this is our second time in Rome, we're hitting places we missed the first time, such as St. Peter's, and Borghese, which are in the vicinity. With a week to spend, I'm sure we'll be all over the place! Thanks for your help.
