Funny Frame's Back Again.....

Anyone else getting a 'funny' frame on the Europe forum ? It's currently the one with the first 50 messages. All Headings are on one line regardless of length & there's a scroll bar along the bottom. It's the only such frame I can see - all others 'normal'. This happened before a while ago & the 'funny' frame eventually disappeared.

Can we do anything about this? It spoils the forum entirely. FODOR"S EDITORS:WE ARE CALLING YOU!!!

Just sent an e-mail to Fodors about the problem. Hope they fix it soon.

How do you people travel?!! If you can't deal with a few vagaries and change I don't know why you bother leaving home. Deal with it. Adapt. Be flexible.

Grasshopper, it was just an observation,
it's certainly not causing me any headaches ! Now back to the Shaolin Temple with you !

Linda Aug 21st, 2001 02:21 PM

Believe it is caused because a poster (inadvertently?) typed a heading that has no spaces. In this case it appears to be one that is word, word, word, word. (note, no spaces after the comma.) When someone does that the program doesn't know where to break the heading to go to line 2, so it doesn't. This moves the right margin out to the end of the heading. Since the margin has been moved, the other headings follow suit and do not wrap around. We can't see the right margin because of the bar. Hopefully Fodor's will fix it.

Agghhh! My eyes were already beginning to cross from my new glasses!
BC

Linda Aug 21st, 2001 03:37 PM

The "funny frame" moved to page 2, at precisely the same time as the heading with the run together words.

Sheila Aug 21st, 2001 03:38 PM

Mended since the last posting!!

Ed Aug 21st, 2001 03:46 PM

Not mended at all.

Wherever the "Amsterdam,Brussels ..." thread or one like it shows up, you'll see the problem. Fodors has done nothing. Not sure there's a way for them to systematically fix it as long as the two frames are in use.

Of course they could remove the offending thread(s) ... if they were watching the forums.

It comes and goes, for me. I hit the refresh icon & the funny frame disappeared
