funky festivals is September
Nice warnings !!
In Franciacorta, in a gorgeous location, during the days 20 - 22 there is the Festival del Franciacorta. The following week-end, the last of September, in Cesena, a cute small town in Romagna, there is the festival of the street food and in Foligno, Umbria, the festival of the Italian primi piatti, the first courses of our traditional cooking. Further news on www.squisitaly.com Have lovely festivals, ciao. Vincenzo |
I'm going to the cow bell fest in Brunnen, Switzerland, this weekend. Over 3,500 men will be ringing their authentic cow bells throughout the town during the 3-day fest.
Lots of folklore, costumes and traditional food. |
vincenz:
Love your title. I think we should start a monthly thread listing funky festivals in our respective areas. |
All good to know, thanks!

Is there anything happening in October?
|
Bravo Vincenzo! Hub and I had an hour layover in Foligno and loved the citto centro.
Wish we were there now! |
Thanks Vincenzo, and great idea Schuler. Always great to know of these off beat and very fun happenings.
Wish I was closer to partake of the European ones. |
Anything in the first two weeks in October? I may be able to go to Foligno.
www.squisitaly.com is an interesting website. Thanks for posting it. |
We managed to get to the Cow Ball in Bohinj, Slovenia last year in September. What a hoot! Well worth the time. It is an annual event that is free. They have the typical "fair" fare, there in a beautiful valley. We met people from all over. And the oompha band was playing good ole USA country music-line dances and rock and roll. Catch it if you can. Shirley, Waukesha (Anyone know of any fun festivals in Croatia in September?)
