If you think "Free Bird" should be the national anthem, you might be....OOPS wrong thread....
If you remember your trips by the days you ate what food and not when you saw what, you might be a travel addict.
If you look at people funny when they say that they did NOT call their airline to book their trip 330 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59.99 seconds before their trip, ....
If you mumble "who the hell is the design passenger on this plane? An Olympic gymnast?" every time your 6-foot-3 frame attempts to sit into a coach-class seat, ....
If you plan your next year around achieving/retaining elite FF traveler status, ....
If you know your FF number but not your SS number, ....
If you keep a record of the most recent answer(s) that an airline gives you when you call to ask the same question, ....

Just caught myself in more addict behavior: watching the weather broadcast for Europe even though I will not be there in the immediate future. (But I can watch the weather and be there in my mind.)

Caroline, I loved your comment about using a Gatwick Express receipt as a book mark.
Deja vu, did you know that Paris Metro tickets make excellent book marks and the need of a fresh supply is a perfectly valid reason (please note that said reason, not excuse)for a quick trip to Paris?

Self admitted travel addict.
I booked non refundable seat sale tickets plus all my hotels for a trip next June to France. This was two and a half months before I knew whether I could get the time off or not. I work for a large company and we have a vacation bid once a year. I'm happy to say that today was the bid and I got the time off for my trip. It was taking a big chance as I am 31 out of 36 on the seniority list. I just couldn't pass up 544.00 per person in June from Halifax to Paris...tax included.
I saw this post when it first came out and thought....no way I'll jinx myself by saying it out loud...I'll waiting until after I have my time off....whew...relief!!
Does anyone know of a good 12 step program for travel addicts?

DejaVu and mebe, Isn't that just the best?! I forget that it's there, and then - big smile. I also had some mouchettes (kleenex) in a different purse from Paris and it was just thrilling to find them a year after the trip.
I am SUCH a dreamer.
or should I say, we are all such dreamers!

Sorry for that cryptic post.
CRAZY4TRAVEL, congratulations! I'm so glad you can take the trip you've already booked!
I still have Euro coins in my change purse from my trip to Italy in July. I don't take them out, even though I always have to check to make sure I'm not giving someone Euro instead of $, because every time I see them in my purse, I think of Italy (not that I don't think of Italy every day anyway...).

You know the little window in your wallet where you are supposed to keep your license or a picture of your nearest and dearest? I have a page from an old desk calendar with the words, "All Roads Lead to Rome" in Italian. I read it every time I open my wallet.

please do not swear like that again.
I can only assume you are in the grip of some evil power / vile disease that will only be cured by a trip to Europe - please check your health insurance immediately and don't think about wasting your money on a 12 step programme

sashh....LOL..I'm sure my hand will stop shaking when on get on the flight to Paris. My only problem is that my husband made me promise that we'll take a break from Europe next year so we can build a new deck. I know the deck will bring years of enjoyment but it doesn't compare to the rush I get from trip planning.

Iwan2go -- yes it is. I also keep my airport tags on my bags so that when I'm packing them for a two hour road trip, I can see LHR and keep that international dream alive...
rbnwld -- that is a good one!
But my kids are becoming little nighmares (kicking, biting, hitting each other...) that I just can't get myself to book tickets to Italy for next year.

you feel lost not having another trip planned.
your mom wakes you up to tell you "I want to go to Iceland for my birthday"
oops, that's how you can tell if travel addiction is genetic!
you plan your friend's trip to Paris and Rome as if you were the one traveling.
you jump at any chance to fly overseas.
you seriously consider applying to certain grad schools and programs just because you can spend a year abroad (and if it's Italy, SCORE!!!
you're in the middle of a trip, you see a travel ad in the papers/metro/etc, and you start planning a trip in your head.
you're constantly checking other sites in hopes of finding a cheap mistake fare to any destination, just so you can go back to your beloved cities.
someone asks which is your favorite European city, and you start naming all the cities you ever visited, because you can't choose one over the other.

You nod your head up and down to every single one of these posts.
You change jobs and in less than a week you know which of your 185 coworkers are fellow travel addicts. And are soon comparing notes as to who, what, when, where. Notice the "why" isn't in there, because, well, only fellow travel addicts understand the "why", and there's no need to explain to the truly addicted.
You have enough FF miles to take two round trips to Europe in Coach, or enough to upgrade to Business or even First class just once, and although you'd love to travel in upgraded comfort, you decide that you'd rather travel twice in coach for free than just once in Business or First. Sacrifices, sacrifices.
You have travel envy every time you read a trip report from someone else. You are happy for them, but you are jealous.
You've "only" traveled to Boston and the State of Maine this year. People are shocked. Only one trip?
