Fun Thread: You know you're a travel addict when...[fill in yours]

You get smacked with a very large and very unexpected bill at the auto mechanic's and your second thought (after (*$&%$!!) is "Hey, that's a lot of SkyMiles!"

...travel becomes a necessary part of your life, not a luxury.
...you live for it.

You don't buy a new sofa because that's one flight to Paris.

When you get up at 4:00 AM to check your email because you think maybe there is a reply from a hotel regarding your next trip!

...you are planning your next trip while on your current one.

...costs of items are compared with flights and hotels. "Oooh, that's as much as a trip to _____!"

When you go into an Italian Deli near your home and the smells remind you of your trip and you get crazed and buy everything in sight.

It's not just the costs of flights and hotels. Mowing my own lawn once could equal a trip on a gondola in Venice!

Travelnut, that's so true! I compare all major purchases to the price of another flight to Paris. (And most sofas cost at least 2 flights! Settle for slipcovers).

When someone ELSE says they are going to buy something new and YOU say, "You could spend a week in Paris for that!!" I've gotten some strange looks from people when I blurt out those sorts of responses!

...when you start sketching out your next trip in earnest, while on the flight home. I use the cocktail napkins to draw up preliminary itineraries, and pass them to Roz (DW) who always sits across the aisle. FA's must think I'm flirting with Roz and writing mash notes ...I can dream!

Passwords you choose for this or that often include the airport codes for your favorite cities. Which of course you have memorized. Just like you do your FF number.

....when you're out in your yard raking leaves and you hear the rumble of wheels on pavement and you automatically assume that one of your neighbors is going on a trip.

(Not bringing out her garbage cans, which is what she's really doing when you turn around to look!!)

I know I'm a travel addict when I have two airfares to Europe booked and I'm still looking for another one. I can't get enough.
