Fuerteventura - Places to go...?

Hi all!

I will be going to Fuerteventura in April for a two week surf trip...
While havin accomodation, I am still looking for the places to be on the island..

Any suggestions about what bar/pub is the place to go for a guy in his late 20s...?
Or any restaurants that are a must-visit (i realy dig seafood)..?

Or any other thing, except surfing and party, that i should be doing..?

thanks for the tips... :)

You won't find that much info on here about the island, as it's not the most popular of the Canary Islands for those around your age, outside of the surf community. The best people to ask are others who are surfing alongside you and it does obviously depend on where you're staying and surfing.

In my experience, bars, food and clubs will be clustered in the towns and areas where surfing happens.

Should there be no surf, or you want a break you can windsurf, kite surf, snorkel or kayak, go sport fishing, camel riding, visit the island of Isla de Lobos or get the ferry to Lanzarote.

You could hire a car and explore the island for a day.

We enjoyed a 1-day trip to Lanzarote to see the national park and Cesar Manrique house there. We did an organised tour - you could go on your own steam but you would probably have to rent a car there.

Where are you staying? We enjoy Corralejo for the food, lots of nice restaurants there, but I think most of the good surfing is down the other end of the island.

It's worth hiring a car for 1 day - you could see the whole island in a day and while there's nothing too special there are nice drives.

I spent a week biking around it a couple of years ago. The locals have not made very tidy towns and the tourists have dumped on it as well however if I wanted to get away from this I'd head to the south west side and surf/beach there. Alternativley if I wanted to see a bit more of the local towns I'h head for the villages on the south East.

Watch out for the chipmunks that some stupid american imported into the island there is a plague of them
