Charlie, Having just returned from driving through Germany, I can tell you that Gary is right on with gas prices but don't forget that European cars get much better milage than do ours. So even though you will pay a lot for gas, by our standards, it goes a lot further than you might expect. Now the question is why cars made in the US can't get the same mileage???

we drove all over southern germany for about $50 worth of gas for about 2 weeks, mid size car....it is not going to break the bank

At $4.00 per gallon for gas in Germany, we rented a diesel 323 BMW when it was offered last year by the rental agent. It was a good deal, the car had some pep, and would do it again.

Just returned from Poland...Prices are higher than I expected, about 3.25PLN a liter. The roads are horrendous though and it takes forever to get anywhere!!!
