Netherlands, it always the first one you actually reach

As per the FAQs below it says the country where you will be staying for maximum number of days. I am staying for 6 days each in Italy and France so not sure if it will be Netherland.

From the Dutch Consulate website: "If you intend to visit more than 1 Schengen state, you should submit your application to the embassy or consulate of the Schengen state that will be your main destination.

If you intend to spend an equal length of time in several Schengen states, you should submit your application to the embassy or consulate of the Schengen state that you will arrive in first."

So you apply to the Netherlands since it is the country you will first arrive in, given your stays in France and Italy are of equal length.

My itinerary from Pakistan to Schengen states is as follows

MADRID - 2 DAYS (first port of entry)
ITALY - 10 DAYS
PARIS : 5 DAYS
MADRID - 2 DAYS

I posted a similar question to Spain Embassy in Pakistan. They gave me a call and said that you should apply at the Country Embassy where you are staying most and in my case it is ITALY

I am confused too

Why are you confused? That's the same answer as before, but the OP wasn't staying in one country a whole lot longer than others, as you are.
