Trains take from 6 to 8 hours -- dependng on type and # of changes. Only price shown was about 55 euros - but don;t know your age/status, if you have a pass etc. You would have to check directly on that.

Check out www.raileurope.com for train schedules and fares in Europe.

RailEurope sells a limited selection of tickets, mostly for the most expensive express trains, and they only show on their schedule trains for which they sell tickets. Also, in most cases the fares they show are considerably more than the fares for the same trains if purchased over there.

The best schedules information can be found on the German Rail (DB) website, at http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en. This site will give you train schedules for all of the trains, not just the express trains, all over Europe. It will also give you fares for most trains within Germany and for those starting or ending in Germany. DB doesn't usually have fares for trains entirely in other countries.

For fares in other countries, go to the national rail line for that country. You can find links to the websites for these rail lines by going to the Eurail (NOT RailEurope) website at www.eurail.com and clicking on "Travel information" > "Travel by train" > "European Railways".

Not only can you find most fares in Germany on the DB site, you can also purchase tickets online at the real European price. Often there are promotional fares for less than the standard fare you would pay over there, and for far less than what RailEurope would charge you. Many of the other European rail lines will also sell you standard and promotional tickets online or for pickup in that country.
