From Poland (Gdansk , Warsaw) to Vilnius , Which is the best way?

Hello Everybody,

Can you give me some advice about the trip from Poland to Vilnius (Lithuania) ?

Do you think from Gdansk to Vilnius will be easy way or from Warsaw to Vilnius?

By train or by bus ?

I prefer to spend longer time in Gdansk, I like less crowded city and hope hear your suggestions.

Thanks.

Gavin

Hi,
I recommend you Simple Express. It's an lithuanian firm. You can get to Vilnius from Poznań or Warsaw. It isn't expensive. Check it! If you want to travel between cities in Poland it's cheap to take polskibus. Check their webpage. It's possible to travel from one to another city for 15-20 zł (4-5 euro). But you have to book travel at least month ago. It's better to book three, four months before, because prices are increasing with every person who buy ticket.
Have a nice voyage!

Also, there are more buses Warsaw - Vilnius:
I tried Ecolines and was very satisfied with their bus. You can try to buy ticket online http://ecolines.net/
The prices are the same and not increases, so you can book a ticket week ago (if there is any seats left). They offer free wifi, hot drinks and food.
Poznan - Vilnius you have to take simple express

We used the bus. Very easy, but make sure you buy your ticket the day before you leave each city. Busses fill up.

For information on each city www.inyourpocket.com

Hi Adrienne; We used www.eurolines.com from Tallinn to Riga and then Vilnius.

We then drove into Poland sometime in the early 2000's.

No drop off charge at the time.

I think I confused the OP'S request. Didn't really answer the question, as we didn't take he bus from Poland to Vilnius.

Thanks, Dick.

I prefer trains, especially for long journeys, as you can stand up and move around but the bus is almost always cheaper than the train. Compare pricing and duration and then make your decision.
