From ORLY airport to 5th arr, Paris, quickest way to get there and roam?
Do you know what is the quickest way to get to the 5th arr from ORLY airport?
Husband and I made a quick change to our hotel reservation, and we will now be close to the St Michel metro. This area looks much more central as compared to our previous hotel reservation and I was wondering what transportation alternatives are in there for us to and from the airport as well as when sightseeing.
Do we have to buy a pass to roam around Paris or do you think we can walk to all sights without the pass?
Thanks,

Paris is a fairly large city and while many sights are near the river by the 5th and 6th - there are a lot of sights in other areas and using the Meteo is a great idea for longer trips - or if tired at the end of the day.
We usually just buy a carnet - pack of 10 tickets that can be used by any number of people.
There are also weekly passes but I don;t know if they pay based on how many trips you will make - and how many days you will be there. These are per person - not to be shared and if you're there only 3 or 4 days may well not pay.

Take the RER to St. Michel. There is an Orlyval train from Orly to the RER train station. Any of the RER trains will stop at St. Michel. Depending on your time of arrival, this will be the quickest way as there will be no traffic slowdowns.

If you are right near St Michel, take the RER, there is a stop right there. That should be the quickest, although it's a little more complicated to get on it at Orly than CDG, as I understand (you take Orlyval shuttle to the RER station or something).

Whether your destination is St Michel or not, taking the RER from ORY is cumbersome and costly, 23.30€ for two people and this option includes a line change at Antony.
I would not even consider anything other than a taxi, around 30€. It´s much faster from ORY than is the RER and much simpler.
If you want to save money, take the tramway 7 to Villejuif, transition to the Métro 7 to Jussieu, connect to M10 and exit Cluny/St Michel. This option will cost two tickets t+ each (one for the tramway and one for the métro) or 1.41€ for each ticket when purchased in groups of 10.
