I really enjoyed my brief stop in Obidos on the way to Coimbra. I walked the perimeter of the village on top of the wall and took tons of photos. It's a pretty medieval village and is on my list to return and stay for at least a night or two.

I had landed in Lisbon that very morning, and despite my stop, wander, and lunch, still made it to Coimbra before dark (late November). Coimbra is bigger and there are Roman ruins nearby (Conimbriga) which are worth a visit. Tomar is not too far from Coimbra, and there is the Convento de Cristo there (Knights Templar).

Obidos is close to a few other coastal towns that were on my list to "try to visit" but I didn't make it. With a two night stay, I would have done so.

I stayed in both the places recommended my "The Big Bad Wolf", and heartily agree with his suggestions. My family and I wish we could have stayed another night in the Bussaco forrest. The hotel is really beautiful and unique, and there are walking trails all around it that we wish we could have walked had there been more time. The gardens surrounding it were intriging, and left us wanting more. The restaurant there is my favorite of any I have ever been to. If you do go there, ask for a table on the deck, and reserve it right when you check into your room. The ambience is just enchanting. Have a great time on your trip! pp

Thanks everyone for your help and reccomendations!
Could anyone help me to organize the visits in Bussaco and then in Obidos to take advantage to go to the main places and not to loose time....?

There are fairly frequent buses from Coimbra to Viseu that cll at Bussaco both ways - go to http://www.rede-expressos.pt/ and put the two cities above in the origem and destinao boxes.
