From London Central to Heathrow Airport

Hello Everybody,

My family (2 Adults and 2 children) will travel from Paris to London by EuroStar for a Day-trip tour in London and then go to the Airport at night.

Can you tell me the best way to go to the Airport from the London Central ? (By Tube or Hearthow connect ?)

Is there any locker in the Tube station that allow me to store the Luggages for one day ?

Hope to hear your reply soon.

Thanks so much.

Gavin

Paddington Station has a left luggage facility and is also where you get Heathrow Connect/Heathrow Express.

Other train stations have luggage storage too. I personally would never take the Heathrow Express unless money is no object. A family of two adults and 2 children would cost £57 (more if the children are teenagers). Add to that the cost of getting to Paddington and you are looking at £70+.Plus the hassle of going to Paddington before taking your tour . . .

A pre-booked car service from just about anywhere in central would cost about £35. justairports.com is a good one.

I'd either:

Leave the bags at St Pancras (where you get off the Eurostar) and take your tour. At the end of the day return to St Pancras where you can meet your pre-arranged driver.

OR--just pick up the bags and take the tube from St Pancras to Heathrow.

A very useful information.

Thanks a lot.

Make sure you allow plenty of time at Left Luggage to store your bags and also to collect them later. The charge is per 24 hours and per item so can add up if you have a lot of bags. They x-ray the bags and there is usually a queue.

Heathrow Connect from Paddington is £27 for 4 of you.

Can look at car service for 4 people; probably more economical than Heathrow Express. Price depends on pickup point; about 36 pounds from central London http://batransfer.com

I've gone to Heathrow by train from Paddington, by tube and by car service. There's a down side to each of them. Depending on the day of the week and time of day a car is subject to traffic delays, using the tube can be uncomfortable at busy times, especially with luggage, and while not immune to delays I think the train is generally the most comfortable other than a car service which I wouldn't use at heavy traffic times. If you're really going at "night" as you say then a car service could be the best option but check prices for 4 as well as the luggage capacity of the car you book. Only you know how much stuff you'll be carrying.

My personal favorite is using the tube as long as I don't have changes with luggage.
