From hotel to Eurostar

How much ahead of time do we need to arrive for a 9:23 a.m. train from London to Paris? How would you suggest 4 women get from the Thistle Charing Cross to the station? What is the station called? Thanks

R -

You need to check in for the Eurostar train at least 30 minutes prior to departure. The time that it takes to get to the station from your hotel depends on the day of the week you are traveling. I would definitely take a taxi to the Waterloo train station (where the Eurostar train to Paris departs) from your hotel.
Martha
Hi

With not a lot of luggage ,leave the hotel go to Charing Cross Underground station next door buy a single ticket ( £1.60 each person) and take the Northern or Bakerloo lines ( Southbound) 2 stops to Waterloo and follow signs to Waterloo International or the Eurostar signs

We will be going from London to Paris on Monday at 9:23 a.m. Can a taxi take 4 of us with one bag and a carry-on each? Any idea how much a taxi would cost from Charing Cross to Waterloo station? Thanks to both of you for great help. Appreciate it.

Hi,

with one suitcase perpoerson, 4 might be a bit of a struggle , however with one suitcase between four and four carry ons ( assuming reasonable size) you should fit in one blac cab ok.

You will need to have been checked in no later than 8:53am.
Bearing in mind that this is during the rush hour ( although you will be heading away from the main flow) there is no guarantee that you will not be held up for a few minutes and would plan on being at Waterloo no later than 8:30am to allow time to find the Eurostar check in ( its at the right hand side of the station down an escalator/lift).
I would probably plan on leavinhg the hotel at about 8am ( allowing time to check out- there should be plenty of taxis outside the hotel as it is beside Charing Cros Station)
Fare for a black cab - as Waterloo is just south of the river thames I would say £5-£10 ( £10 being the maximum allowing for traffic delays).
Forgive my ignorance but is that cab rate for all of us, or is there an extra charge per person. Thanks for all of the great advice.
