From Heathrow, what to do ?
After arriving at 8:30 a.m. on overnight flight, should I visit Hampton Court Palace since it is nearby OR head to the hotel in South Kensington? Is it relatively inexpensive to get to HCP from the airport?? Thanks! |
I would travel from Heathrow to your hotel in South Kensington (if you travek on the tube it's a direct trip with no changes).
I couldn't imagine taking my luggage from Heathrow on a visit to HCP before dropping my things off at the hotel. It seems like too much travelling with your things, particularly when you are likely to be at your most tired. You'll find that, like most US cities (assuming that's where you're coming from) that it's easy to get to anywhere from central London. To get from one point in outer London to another can actually be quite difficult, even if they seem quite close together. |
Another vote for going to the hotel first - it's a very straightforward journey from the airport.

Chances are you want to take a nap in your hotel room before wandering out to the city in the afternoon. Well unless you're flying F or C class.
Definitely go to hotel first. |
Thanks everybody for your help! Will head for hotel first. Definitely flying economy so a nap sounds good. |
