From Gernoble to lake Como
Hi All,
Myself and 3 friends are going on holidays one week camping in France. France:Haute-Provence, between Luberon, Verdon And Mercantour Park then we are planning to go to Lake Como for week 2 (not clear where here yet but thinking Argegno.) We dont want to drive. What would be the easiest /most scenic way for us to travel? We were thinking of renting a car the first week so would probably have to drop that back to Gernoble so we would probably be making our way from Gernoble to lake Como. Any suggestions would be VERY welcome. Thanks in advance!!! |
You mean Grenoble, right? The best way would be by train -- you can experience some fabulous countryside, passing lakes and all sorts of cool things.
There's a number of different routes you can take, all of which will require train changes, but that's kind of the fun of it. I think my favorite route would be through Switzerland, which would follow a route from Grenoble to Aix les Bains to Geneve, Lausanne, Brig, Domodossola (incredible views!), Milano, Como. This means tons of train changes. Probably the fastest and least number of changes would be from Grenoble through Geneva to Zurich, then to Como. |
Thanks for the info!!! For the route you mention that means lots of train changes but lovely scenery how long would that take?

And yes i meant Grenoble :)

Hi K - I believe the quickest would be the Chambery/ Milan route (- 2 changes) -
Dep. Grenoble 09.25 Arr. Como S.G 15.43 http://trenitalia.com/homepage_en.html Hope this helps ... Steve |
