From Dingle to Dublin?

I always come back to the Fodor community to get the best travel advice, and you never disappoint me. Today I need help with the last 2-3 days of our May trip to Ireland.
We will be picking up a car when we land at Dublin Airport and will drive to Kilkenny.
We have 2 nights there then 4 nights in a cottage on Dingle Peninsula. We will have three more days before we fly out of Dublin airport, so my question to the Ireland travelers is this - should we drive straight back to airport and spend the remainder of our time Dublin?
Or, do you have a recommendation of one more place to visit to break up the drive back to Dublin?

You could do Wicklow first. I am not saying Galway as that is what most would do but Wicklow is beautiful. Lots to see and do in Dublin also.

Depends if you want to have more time in Dublin city.
Depends on whether you might like to catch a festival. The Fledh Nua is on in Ennis at the end of May.
Depends if you want to visit somewhere a lot less tourist driven.

Consider going up the middle, Dingle to Killaloe, on to Birr and visit Clonmacnoise before heading to DUB or Killaloe and east via Roscrea then up via the Rock of Dunamase. Or Ennis as a touring base for the former Shannon region.

Thank you both - we are there May 10 thru May 20 so will miss festival in Ennis. Will look at all these suggestions for one more visit before heading into Dublin.
