Please refresh my memory!! What should I expect to pay within the next couple weeks for a taxi for two persons with two not so big wheeled pieces from CDG to Quai Voltaire in St. Germain area at 12:30ish mid-week?

I get it that I find the Taxi Parisien taxis only, but do I buy a ticket at a stand like I do in other countries, or from the taxi driver. Do I tip? Thank you!!

You go to the taxi line - give driver the address, then pay him upon delivery to the hotel, cash preferred but I suppose they are set up for credit cards (not sure though).

I would estimate your fare to be in the range of 40-45€, give or take a €.

my family of five visited Paris in March. We had luggage. We took the RER. It was a nightmare - but only becasue of the luggage. Ticketing and making the connections to Metro by itself was easy, but we happened to hit the train during rush hour, and our train car quickly became packed with commuters, and trying to manuever through the crowds with luggage was very tough. RER is a very good option if you are traveling with a single suitcase that you feel comfotable going through a turnstyle with. It is a bad option if you have more than one suitcase, or if your one suitcase is large. Upon my return to the states, I've been watching these fodors thread, and there are a whole lot of postings by people who say that the van shuttles are a good deal, so I am unconvinced that taxi is preferable to shuttle van.

With a lot of luggage, I wouldn't ride the RER from CDG to Paris before the first non-stop runs. At the present time, that would be a KROL¹, and the earliest one is at 8h55.

We tip a taxi up to 10%... and I'd guess that mid-day traffic will be about as good as it gets, other than 5am or 11pm.. :)
