What is the best way to leave from Hyde Park<BR>to Windsor Castle. We are planning on going on our own, but wondered if someone would know what routes to take.

You want to take the train I assume? Go over to Paddington station, not far from where you are at, and check the schedules. Train from Paddington to Windsor runs on regular schedule. Easiest way to get there.

Throughout the rest of the day, a frequent service runs between Slough and Windsor with excellent connections from London Paddington.<BR><BR>South West Trains operates a direct service from London Waterloo to Windsor and Eton Riverside Station. Journey times are approximately 55 minutes. For those visiting LEGOLAND, they have an integrated ticket, which includes rail travel, link bus from station to the Park and entry fee to the attraction. These tickets must be bought from the train station.<BR><BR>Maidenhead Train Station is an easy walk from the town centre. Thames Trains operate services from Reading and London into Maidenhead at regular intervals. Central line from Lancaster Gate or any closer central line tube station to Paddington. Train from Paddington to Slough (fast and regular) then change for Windsor &amp; eton central train stop (just a few minutes).<BR><BR>Slower train from Waterloo direct to Windsor &amp; Eton riverside station as alternative.(2-3 and hour)

Walk to Paddington station, then take a train via Slough - you have to change trains there (it rhymes with &quot;cow&quot;). Services are frequent and you don't need to book in advance - just buy a day return ticket at the station.

The options are to cross central London to Waterloo for a train to Windsor and Eton Riverside, which is close to the Castle, or to go to Paddington for a train to Windsor and Eton Central, from where you will have to walk a bit.<BR><BR>Depends which end of Bayswater Rd you are, perhaps. Windsor and Eton Central Staton is nearer to the entrance of the castle and to the town centre. Windsor and Eton Riverside is down the hill, nearer Eton and, surprisingly, by the river.
