From airport to hotel: Nice, Paris - need help!
 

We arrive in Nice on Oct 14. What is the best way to get from the airport to Hotel Roosevelt? We are very unfamiliar with public transportation, and do not know French, so we need help! Also, we arrive in Paris (Orly) on Oct. 19, and need to get to Hotel Moderne St. Germaine. Same problem - need detailed help for what to do once we arrive to get on the right train. Thanks much!

Unless you're really trying to save a few dollars and since there are apparently at least two of you (you say "we"), I'd do a taxi both places. I have yet to see a taxi driver in Nice who didn't speak English but there may be some. In any case have the name of your hotel and address clearly printed out for him.
A taxi from Orly to your hotel in Paris will cost around 25 euro -- don't mess with shuttles, schlepping luggage, or trains and transfers to save a couple euro!

There actually will be 4 of us. Will one taxi take that many people, and does the price go up accordingly?

Additional charges per person start after the fourth. There is a small charge per piece of luggage. In Paris you can wait for a larger mini-van type taxi which is the same rate as the regular ones. I'm not real sure about in Nice, but it seems I've seen both mini-van and regular ones also.
In any case with 4 -- taxi is definitely the way to go -- so long as there is room for the luggage.

Depends on the taxi driver; in Paris, I found that some do not want to be bothered to remove their lunch from the front seat to accommodate a passenger.
