Ann I can TOTALLY relate to the overpacking or underpacking thing. As often as I've travelled, I always seem to get it wrong too. I think this trip was the best I ever did, somewhat by accident. What worked was a simple color scheme & clothes I could layer depending on temps. Keep in mind you'll be there almost a month after I was, but I've heard the weather is still changeable.

I had the proverbial black plus one color. I happened to buy this pink wool Chanel type blazer I mentioned, before going. It worked with jeans as well as nice black slacks in the evening. If it was chilly, I layered the cape over it & had several different weight sweaters/tops to wear under it including cashmere. The color also made me look/feel a bit more springy than just all black. I also had a pair of light beige velvet Gap jeans (with stretch so they were really comfortable) which also looked good with the pink jacket. So I had a pink, black, beige color scheme going on.

I guess I would just say think more about layering rather than either/or. Will the jean jackets fit under the walking coat? Will you have tops that work for 50-75 degree weather? As to the all important shoe issue, I could never be comfortable walking around in mules, but maybe you can. Honestly, no one will look at your feet. Wear what's comfortable & bring some nice shoes for the evening if you just go out to dinner. Hope you have a great trip. Just keep telling yourself a pound equals a dollar so you don't flip out at the prices. #o

M_kingdom,

John Rocha is NOT a UK designer. He is an Irish Designer (Born in Hong Kong and has Irish citizenship and a wife and children here in Dublin). His office are Located in Dublin (Templebar).

While he shows his collection in UK shows and has a line of clothing for Debenhams he is not a UK designer. I love the cut of his clothes and the fabrics.
